The meeting was long and full of compromises. A constitution was worked out which stated that the membership shall be comprised of those holding or studying for a degree in Dentistry, Medicine, Podiatry, or Veterinary Medicine who are currently engaged in the activity of motorcycling. The meeting are to be held annually in different areas of the country to accommodate the widespread membership. Dr. Mackenzie was elected president and Drs. Patterson and Goldberg shared the Vice President position, and Dr. DeGroat Secretary-Treasurer. Dr. DeGroat designed the logo, a circular device having a field of green, upon which rests a white motorcycle; before which stands a gold Caduceus; enclosed within a double gold border with the name MOTORCYCLING DOCTORS ASSOCIATION in white.
